Set off at 7 am while the dew is still on the coffee leaves. Our naturalist points out the birds, spiders and medicinal plants most guests walk straight past, and explains how shade-grown coffee keeps the forest canopy alive. The trail is about 4 km on a well-trodden path and ends at a rocky viewpoint where flasks of coffee are waiting. Best in the cool months from October to March; in the monsoon we go with leech socks. Safety: wear closed shoes, stay with the guide and do not touch plants or insects you cannot identify.
