About this package
Children remember the loft. Parents remember the quiet. Stay in a Stilt Wood House above the forest floor, follow the estate stream to its cascade, learn how coffee is grown, and end each day around the fire. All meals are included, with a kids’ menu that still tastes of the hills. Every activity is chosen to suit children from about six years old, at a pace grandparents can keep up with.

Day by day

Day 1
Arrive in the hills

Check in
A welcome drink of estate coffee or kokum juice, and a short walk to your room. If you arrive earlier, leave your bags with us and have lunch while the room is made ready.

Estate stroll
An easy half-hour loop through the coffee rows as the light turns gold, with tea and pakoras on the verandah after.

Dinner
An early family dinner with a mild menu for the children.

Streams, squirrels and a bonfire

Nature walk
Spot giant squirrels and hornbills with our naturalist; binoculars provided. About 4 km on an easy path; children manage it well.

Stream walk
Hop along the boulders of the estate stream to a little cascade and pool. Bring a change of clothes for the children.

Estate cows and the kitchen garden
Meet the cows, pick vegetables for dinner and feed the ducks.

Bonfire evening
Roasted corn, stories and music around the fire.

From coffee cherry to cup

Children help sort beans in the drying yard and grind their own cup.

Sack races, a treasure hunt in the garden and a visit to the estate cows.

Telescopes on the grassland and hot chocolate under the Milky Way. Dress warmly; clear nights are cold.
