Temple circuit: Horanadu, Kalasa & Sringeri

Visit the Annapoorneshwari temple at Horanadu, where every visitor is offered a meal; the riverside Kalaseshwara temple at Kalasa on the Bhadra; and the Sharada Peetham at Sringeri on the banks of the Tunga, with its carved Vidyashankara temple. The drive winds through areca gardens and paddy, with a stop for lunch along the way. Expect about 150 km of driving in total, so we leave by 7 am. Open all year. Dress modestly, and note that some temples close in the afternoon and have their own dress codes. Safety: ghat roads are winding, and our drivers avoid the hill sections after dark.
